An Act of Redemption by K. C. Lynn

An Act Of Redemption is the first novel in a spin off series to the Men Of Honor series. I highly recommend reading the very first one (Fighting Temptation) and the books that follow before this one.       In this book, Anna has a dark past that haunted her until she met Logan. Logan and Anna come from opposite worlds but couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Or so they thought.

Logan knows he’s not good enough for Anna but he can’t stop the protective pull and love he feels for her. So when something happens that could hurt Anna, he walks away.

Soon, Logan and Anna are forced into each other company again and can’t fight the feelings they both still have.

Will fate be in their favor and give them a second chance or will something else pull them apart.
I absolutely loved this book! KC Lynn is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. It’s amazing to see Anna and Logan grow together. We first meet both of them in Fighting Temptation but now they have their own book and- *swoons*

This book isn’t as steamy as some I’ve read so brace yourselves. But what it lacks in 🔥 it makes up for in ❤️.

I absolutely love Logan and Anna together and read this book very quickly as I NEEDED to know what was happening. This book is an emotional rollercoaster! I went from laughing to swooning to crying in a matter of minutes! Read this series! All of them! 😘😉😏

Kylie is the good twin. She’s always been there to help Stacy out in any way she needed. So, Kylie being Kylie sucks it up and decides to strip at Deuces for Stacy.

(Que love interest)

Detective Trevor McCabe is following a lead on a string of murders. Because of this, he is sitting in the roaring crowd when Kylie dances for the first time. At first sight he is intrigued by her. She seems to know what she’s doing but she’s more focused on the crowd than her dancing.

So when Kylie finds a body in the clubs parking lot she calls the police forgetting she’s “Stacy”.

As the book heats up, the killer closes in and Trevor is closer than ever to solving the case. He just needs Stacy’s (Kylie’s) help.

My review: AAAAAAHHHH!!!! Okay so I’ve been in a reading slump for a long time and I just haven’t been able to read anything that interested me so finally I decided to read Shadow and Bone and I’m so glad that I did because I absolutely loved it!! I’ve heard people talk about it and I just had to see if it was as great as everyone says that it is and I was not let down.

This is the first book in the trilogy and it starts off right away. You don’t have to wait for all the boring introductions with all of the details about everything. You are able to feel a connection to the characters right away and you understand the way the feel. This book is flows beautifully so that you are able to read it without having to stop and go back to try to understand what you just read.

Once you start reading Shadow and Bone you won’t be able to stop. It is one exhilarating chapter to the next. There are so many plot twists that you won’t see coming. Your eyes will be glued to the pages watching the Shadow and Bone world come to life. This fantasy novel will make you want to hop right into the pages to travel right along with Alina and uncover the secrets that she finds right along with her.

The love story that is strung through this novel will warm your heart and maybe break it a little in the process. But, nevertheless, you should make Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo your next book on your to be read list. I am currently reading the second one and I will post a review about Siege and Storm soon!

K&M’s TBR list

Hey y’all it had been too long since I have posted on our blog here and I hope that you guys still want to read our reviews. I thought that I should try something new and tell you what is on my to be read list( I’m not sure if you guys really care about what I am going to read next but here it goes…)

My to be read list:

( okay pre-warning it’s mostly books that haven’t came out yet)

  • Forever Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon (last one of the series and I’m so excited!!!)
  • A Torch Against The Night by Sabaa Tahir (Been waiting for this for too long and the first one is one of my all time favorite books)
  • The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson
  • A Million Worlds With You by Claudia Gray
  • Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo ( just finished the first one recently and I need to go buy the second one!)
  • Stars Above by Marissa Meyer

( I could probably go on for years about all of the books that I want to read but these are my top choice right now)

Katarina’s to be read list :

  • Whatever book pops out to her.

Kat’s more of a free spirit. She just finds whatever book that looks interesting and reads it.

( though they happen to be more of the romance novels, because she’s all lovey, dovey but won’t admit to it)

Sweet Temptation by KC Lynn

Grace is a sweet southern belle with mad pie making skills. Sawyer is a cocky, sexy, ex-seal who moved to town to run a gym with his buddies. Soon, Sawyer runs into Grace who seems resistant to his charms. And because their close friends are getting married, Sawyers believes he and Grace should get to know one another and become friends.

While becoming friends, Sawyer learns a little about Grace’s dark past and in doing so, falls in love. Now, with Grace’s demons closing in, will Sawyer’s love be enough to keep them together and keep Grace safe.

I absolutely adore this series and this book! Grace and Sawyer are the cutest couple! This book is the second one of the series ( I recommend starting with the first one but I can be read as a stand alone) and just as hot as the first. Grace is on the run from something in her past but doesn’t want to share her burden with anyone. Then strong, Sexy Sawyer comes along. There are a few bumps along the way ( like in any relationship) and a few things get complicated but this book is beautiful. As Grace struggles to let Sawyer in, the ex-playboy waits patiently, mean while I was gripping the book with all my might trying to figure out what happens next!

Quarantine: The Loners By Lex Thomas

Alright guys, you NEED to read this book! It’s amazing!! I seriously read each one in a day. There are a few reviews that say this series is similar to Lord of The Flies. However, I didn’t really like that book. This one is packed full of adventure, mystery, and gruesome survival stories. Main characters David and Will struggle to survive when they are locked in their high school.

Why? Well because every teenager gets a disease that causes anyone over eighteen to literally choke on the blood from their lungs. Gross I know.

So the students are locked inside, Quarantined. *Snickers* Anyway, the teenagers are trapped and have to fight to survive, because, when the food is given to them, everyone fights. To the death.

David and Will are brothers who don’t always see eye to eye. Will isn’t hard working and is very insecure. So when he has a seizure and embarrasses himself, things get tense between the brothers. Enter Lucy, Will’s crush. David saves Lucy from a rather traumatic event and they end up falling for one another.

Now the brothers have to fight to survive while fighting each other, running from enemies, and searching for food. Could it get any worse?

There are currently three books out in the series but another one is coming out soon *dances around excitedly*

I honestly think anyone who likes divergent, the hunger games, the maze runner, basically anything popular, should read this book. They’re amazing!

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Synopsis: (from )

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes—and promises to revolutionize science forever. But then Marguerite’s father is murdered, and the killer—her parent’s handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul— escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows—including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. Before long she begins to question Paul’s guilt—as well as her own heart. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father’s death is far more sinister than she expected.

I actually wanted to start reading this book because of the beautiful cover. I thought it was the most intricate cover when I was strolling through Barnes and Noble. So I picked it up and the synopsis was also very intriguing.

A Thousand Pieces of You is a very interesting read. It has drama and action mixed with science and adventure. Now if you aren’t a science nerd or if you have no interest in science, don’t worry, the book doesn’t focus on the details of the science and mostly gives an overview of the science aspects that are given in the book.

The concept of the book was so interesting, but I do have to say I was a bit confused, not at the science part, but of where the characters were. Such as, they would be described as talking on the street and then in the next sentence they would be described as being in the car talking. There was no information on how they got from one place to another.

However, I did love the characters. They were very developed and very fascinating to read about. There were also many surprises that I didn’t see coming, and I was very intrigued in all the different ways that Claudia Gray was able to put in different twists and turns without it being to predictable.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure and mystery book. And anyone who likes a nice love story that is intertwined throughout the novel. This book is also part of a trilogy. The second book is called Ten Thousand Skies Above You and the third one is called A Million Worlds With You. The second one is out but the third one is not yet.
